At Beyond 32 Dental, our child-friendly team strives to provide your child with a positive dental experience by making visits both interactive and fun! We believe that prevention is better than cure which is why we recommend children visit us for regular 6 monthly check-ups as early as 2 years of age. Not only will this help foster a positive attitude towards coming to the dentist, regular attendance will help your child develop good oral hygiene habits that they can continue into adulthood.

A visit to the dentist can be fun!

A thorough examination is performed to detect any early decay and/or orthodontic concerns. This will involve taking digital films and perhaps a very gentle clean & polish if any tartar or plaque is detected. But don’t worry because we’ll also make it fun and interactive for your child by playing their favourite movie on the screen right in front of the dental chair. Our professionally trained staff also enjoy working with children and bring a sense of fun to the children.

To prepare them for their first experience in the dental chair, we encourage parents to talk to their child about the upcoming dental visit, reading dental books, watching movies and ‘role playing’ at home in preparation can be beneficial to build confidence in your child.

CONTACT US today to discuss how else we can make your child’s first visit to the dentist an engaging and memorable experience. We look forward to making a positive and lasting impression on your child.

Early Interceptive Orthodontics

Does your child have crooked teeth at young age? There might be a bigger problem more than just teeth! If  diagnosed and treated early in life, it can often avoid lengthy treatment in the future, and most importantly, better quality of life!

Orthodontics means moving teeth. But whats more important is the jaws, the foundation of all teeth. Why? If the position, shape, and size of the jaw is wrong, it will not only cause crooked teeth, but  also have significant adverse effect on the airway and jaw joints. It is not uncommon to find kids (or even adults!) who suffer from obstructive airway experience excessive daytime sleepiness, poor concentration, decrease learning ability, bed wetting and the list goes on.

While age of 7 is the golden time for orthodontic assessment, we encourage all parents to bring your kids to our surgery as early as possible to identify any functional problems that affect jaw development. If treatment is required and started before they reach their growth spurt, we can guide the jaw development with oral appliances to make teeth straightening (if required) much easier later down the track. The days of “wait till all adult teeth comes out” is over!
